New Delhi: The Delhi Government on August 11 signed an agreement with the International Baccalaureate (IB) board. IB will be associated with the upcoming Delhi School Education Board (DBSE), said the chairman of the Minister of Arvind Kejriwal.
The minister’s chairman said IB was working in 159 countries and 5,500 schools worldwide affiliated with him. Now, schools under DBSE will get international level education.
Private schools can also be affiliated with DBSE, Mr. Kejriwal added.
Deputy Delhi CM Manish Sisodia said IB would be a DBSE knowledge partner.
“The IB board will be the DBSE knowledge partner (Delhi School Edu. Board) to provide support in the curriculum, assessment & teacher training. This is a big step to ensure world-class education for every child, including children from the poorest family, “Mr. Sisodia, who is also Minister of Education Delhi, tweeted.
DBSE will start with 30 affiliated schools. Twenty School Special Advantages (SOSE) will be launched under the council on August 15, the Delhi government said.
All schools specifically excellence will teach the IB curriculum, according to a report.
IMS Under Delhi School Education Council will serve grade 9 to 12 students who have special abilities and interests in certain study domains including science, technology, engineering and mathematics (rods), humanities, performances and visual arts, and the end of the 21st century skill , according to the national capital government.
Of the 20 IKS in the first phase, eight schools will specialize in stems (science, technology, techniques and mathematics) 5 schools each will specialize in the age of 21st century and two-century skills, and two in performances and visual arts.
In the first year, acceptance to special schools will be offered to 9th grade in humanities, performances and visual arts, and the skills of the 21st century upscale.
In stem schools, acceptance will be offered to 9th grade students and 11th grade. The aptitude test will be held to get into the income and the acceptance schedule will be announced later.
