Farmers Reach Jantar Mantar Amid Heavy Security Arrangements

New Delhi: a gaggle of 200 farmers reached Jantar Mantar in central Delhi on Thursday to protest against the Centre’s three controversial farm laws because the Monsoon session of Parliament was underway.
Police threw a hoop of security around central Delhi and kept a decent vigil on the movement of vehicles.

The Delhi government and police on Wednesday agreed to permit farmers to carry the Kisan Sansad at Jantar Mantar from today till August 9 between 11 am and 5 pm.

The protesters are asked to offer an undertaking that each one Covid norms would be followed and therefore the protest would be peaceful, PTI reported.

This is the primary time since the violence within the capital during a tractor rally on January 26 that the authorities have given permission to protesting farmer unions to carry a protest within the city.
