“Consolation” Prize: Anand Mahindra’s Post Before New UK PM Announcement

Industrialist Anand Mahindra, known for sharing attractive social media posts, has made Twitter users grinning again. On Tuesday, the Chairman of the Mahindra Group shared a photo of the street in Brooklyn, New York who happened to share his name with the path of the official residence of the British Prime Minister. The picture shows the road with a sign that reads “Downing St.”.
The picture was posted by Mr. Mahindra a few hours before Liz Truss was named the next British Prime Minister, winning the internal leadership contest from the ruling conservative party. He defeated his rival, former Financial Chancellor Rishi Suna after the leadership contest during the summer triggered by Boris Johnson’s resignation in July.

Mahindra’s tongue cheek post suggested that the prime minister’s runner-up could get consolation after the pain in losing a chair. The same address can offer comfort for those who are defeated after a spirit full contest that sees Rishi Suna and Liz Truss fighting with issues such as taxation levels, national health and environmental services.

“This one is in Brooklyn, Ny, not London. As a consolation, anyone who loses the prime minister today can get a place to live there …,” Mr Mahindra wrote the post.

Post has more than 1,760 likes.

“That’s one way to get there,” wrote a user. “Curious to know where you get your intelligence …,” added another.
