A new interactive series consisting of 9 episodes will be released in April 2022 throughout the world. Kitty battle, taking inspiration from video games in some genres is probably one of the most ambitious interactive projects to date.
This release originated exactly two years after the special was first announced for Netflix. At that time the project was based on Matt Layzell’s Instagram Series called “The Adventures of Kitty & Orc” and was described as a distinctive story experience.
Now we have our first look and some new information about the upcoming interactive series that came to Netflix on April 19, 2022.
This is how Netflix describes the new 9-episode series:
“In the Futuristic Medieval World, Warriors must find and defeat all monsters on the island of battle, collect coveted keys to become ‘champions’. Cut into Kitty and Orcs, two best friends in the mission – to help Kitty be their champion – through cuteness and Friendship! Both began a trip to Championhood, facing many obstacles and opponents only to find a surprise waiting for them in ancient ruins … “
Based on the first trailer, this series seems to borrow elements of people like Super Mario.
This project was internally made in Netflix under Netflix Animation led by Melissa Cobb. Cobb, on the announcement of the event two years ago, said:
“Battle Kitty is a mirror of Matt’s own reflection – showing shows, surprisingly, and very pleasant ones that have been infused on each turn with large amounts of humor and heart. This series pushes the boundaries of storytelling in a completely new direction thanks to the innovative interactive format, which is Will allow children to be involved in a broad universe along with the most loved new underdogs, kitty battle. “
Matt Layzell was behind the Battle Kitty. Layzell has credit on various projects in various capacities including the Pinky Malinky Netflix, Sanjay and Craig series and Apple & Onion.
You can find a profile on Layzell on the Netflix animated site where it talks about what inspires him and the creative process.
Also worked on this series including Dave Tennant (staff staff), Shakira Pressley (author), Cooper Nelson (writer and script coordinator), Amanda McCann (artist manager), Matthew Winslow (image editor), and Director of Supervision), and the Austin page (Composite artist).
We don’t have an actor about the show but we will definitely continue to update this in front of the release in April.
This series is only the latest in Netflix’s efforts in an interactive special room. Now there are 18 interactive specials on Netflix (Battle Kitty will be the 19th release) with most of them, such as Battle Kitty, which is intended for younger hearings. So far, so far includes interactive specials such as baby bosses: Get the baby!, Minecraft: Story Mode, Spirit Riding is free, and a variety of Bear Grylls specials.
