“Facebook must appear before the Delhi panel, but .”: Supreme Court

New Delhi: Facebook cannot be forced to answer legal and order problems, which are guarded by the central government, the Supreme Court said today because of asking social media giants to appear in the presence of the Delhi assembly panel in 2020 Riots investigating.

The Delhi Committee has “the right to find information about any issues relating to peace and harmony without penetrating (the) middle legal domain,” the top court is underlined.

The three judges from Judge Sanjay Kiswa Kaul, Dinesh Maheshwari and Hrishikesh Roy delivered an assessment in this case after the petition was submitted by Ajit Mohan, Vice President of Facebook, India. Mr. Mohan challenged the notice issued for him by the panel investigating Delhi riots.

The panel cannot force him to appear in front of him, Mr. Mohan argues, emphasizing that the police and public order in the national capital are under the center of PurView, and he holds the right to remain silent.

The court made a few sharp comments because they insisted on: “Delhi’s assembly panel cannot wear a role (a) a prosecutor agent and direct the submission (a) Chargesheet. The statement made by the assembly panel about making Facebook accused the Chargesheet outside the scope. The statement is hardly Conducive for justice investigations. “

Facebook officials can choose not to answer questions when they appear before the panel, the court is further underlined.
