A secret letter written by Queen Elizabeth II was locked in a rationale in Sydney, and what was interesting was that it could not be opened for 63 years!
According to 7News Australia, the letter was in a ranks in a historic building in Sydney and was written by him in November 1986 and addressed to Sydney people.
7News Australia reports that there is no one, even the personal staff of the Queen, knowing what the letter said was because it was hidden in a glass box in a safe location. One thing is certain, though: it cannot be opened until 2085.
Addressed to Lord Major of Sydney, the instructions read: “On the right day to be chosen by you in 2085 a.d, will you open this envelope and convey to the citizens of Sydney, my message to them.”
It was only signed, “Elizabeth R.”
As Head of State, Queen Elizabeth II visited Australia 16 times.
“From his first famous journey to Australia, the only ruling sovereignty who had visited, it was clear that His Majesty held a special place in his heart for Australia,” Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said in a Friday statement.
“Fifteen more tours before cheering in every part of our country confirmed the special place he was holding in us,” added Albesese.
In 1999, Australia held a referendum about whether to remove the queen as head of state, but was defeated, reported CNN.
On Friday, Sydney’s icon opera house was turned on with respect to the queen.
The Commonwealth State of New Zealand New Countries also officially declared King Charles III as Head of State in television ceremonies, reported CNN.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Australia proclaimed King Charles III as Head of State, the first new king in 70 years.
